Our Legal Studies Program is designed to help students excel. We follow the full NESA curriculum of HSC Legal Studies including Crime, Human Rights and the options of Workplace, World Order, Family, Shelter and Consumer Law.

We don't just rote learn, but put the knowledge students have learnt at school into context. Our course focuses on writing and applying knowledge. We work through HSC-style multiple choice questions and practice paragraphs to patch up any holes in students knowledge, and ensure they are prepped for their exams

Research indicates that attention spans typically begin to decline after just 20 minutes. By structuring our lessons to last one hour, we create an optimal learning environment that maximizes both focus and retention. This approach helps students fully engage with the material, ensuring they gain the most from their educational experience.

Consistency is crucial for effective learning. Regular weekly lessons help students stay on track and steadily work toward their goals. Relying on last-minute cramming is often ineffective and can hinder long-term understanding. By following a structured, consistent approach, students can see significant improvements in their progress and retention

How We Teach

1

Syllabus Content

We comprehensively cover all NESA syllabus dot points, thoroughly investigating relevant theory, cases, and statutes across all topics and subtopics for both the core and optional modules. We unpack the syllabus' key themes and challenges, ensuring that all analysis is directly linked back to the syllabus criteria. This approach equips students with a deep understanding of each concept and how it applies within the broader legal framework, preparing them for success in assessments.

Practice Questions

We believe in learning content through real-world application, which is why we focus on teaching syllabus dot points by incorporating practice questions. By consistently working through practice questions, students can identify any gaps in their knowledge early on and address them, as well as simulating the pressure of a timed exam environment . We ensure that our students review the last 12 years of HSC multiple-choice and short-answer questions, familiarizing them with the exam format

3

We teach students how to structure paragraphs effectively in line with syllabus themes and challenges. Our approach ensures that they master paragraph structures for all key dot points, incorporating relevant LCMID (Legislation, Cases, Media, International Instruments, and Documents) for crafting Band 6 responses. We focus on developing topic sentences that are succinct and complex, building a strong foundation for analytical and well-organized responses in their school assessment tasks.
